Maybe that’s what it all comes down to. Love, not as a surge of passion, but as a choice to commit to something, someone, no matter what obstacles or temptations stand in the way. And maybe making that choice, again and again, day in and day out, year after year, says more about love than never having a choice to make at all.

love and drugs
I’ve been in love before. It’s like a narcotic. At first, it brings the euphoria of complete surrender. The next day, you want more. You’re not addicted yet, but you like the sensation, and you think you can still control things. You think about the person you love for two minutes, and forget them for three hours. But then you get used to that person, and you begin to be completely dependent on them. Now you think about him for three hours and forget him for two minutes. If he’s not there, you feel like an addict who can’t get a fix. And just as addicts steal and humiliate themselves to get what they need, you’re willing to do anything for love.

The Single-Bullet Theory
Everybody's got one person out there. One bullet. And if you're lucky in life, you get to meet that person. And once you do, once you're shot through the heart, then there's nobody else. No matter what happens -- death, divorce, infidelity, whatever -- nobody else can ever come close.
- Michael Connelly

sometimes things such as these happen
Three people you will meet in life: First is the one you love most, second is the one who loves you most and the third is the one you spend the rest of your life with. Sadly, in real life, these three people are usually not the same person. The one you love most doesn't love you. The one who loves you the most is never the one you love the most, and the one you spend your life with, is neither the one you love nor the one who loves you the most. He/she is just the person who happens to be a the right place at the right time.

sad but true
People say “I Love You” just for the sake of saying it, some just for pity, and some because they promised.
When you really think hard, the people who find it hard to say it are usually the only ones who mean it.

Relationships only fail if you don't try
You need patience.
People just want an automatic love story,
but it doesn't happen that way.
You have to put in effort.
Pull your end of the rope,
and if you truly love the person,
you'll go out of your way to make it work.

11 minutes
In love, no one can harm anyone else;
we are each of us responsible for our own feelings
and cannot blame someone else for what we feel.
It hurts when I lost each of the various men I fell in love with.
Now, though, I am convinced that no one loses anyone,
because no one owns anyone.
That is the true experience of freedom:
having the most important thing in the world
without owning it.

meet Joe Black
I know it's a cornball thing but love is passion..
obsession...
something you can't live without.
If you don't start with that, what are you going to end up with?
I say fall head over heels.
Find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back.
And how do you find him?
Forget your head and listen to your heart.
I'm not hearing any heart..
Run the risk,
if you get hurt,
you'll come back.
Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this.
To make the journey and not fall deeply in love
--well, you haven't lived a life at all.
You have to try.
Because if you haven't tried,
you haven't lived...

REAL LOVE?
It's when you go through
the hard trials of trust and sacrifice.
And still you wake up
every morning falling in love
all over again.

rule #1
Respect people's relationships.
There's so many other fish in the sea,
so why mess with the one that's already been caught?

Love and Other Drugs
Sometimes the things you want the most don't happen
and what you least expect happens.
I don't know - you meet thousands of people
and none of them really touch you.
And then you meet that one person.....
and your life is changed.

will never be
At some point you will realize that you have done too much for someone, that the only next possible step to do is to stop.
Leave them alone.
Walk away.
It's not like you're giving up,
and it's not like you shouldn't try.
It's just that you have to draw the line of determination from desperation. W
hat is truly yours will eventually be yours,
and what is not,
no matter how hard you try,
will never be.

Fallacy II
Love is not always as they say blind.
A LOT OF TIMES, it's the people who make it blind and stupid.

this Lullaby
"I knew that there were no guarantees.
No way of knowing what came next for me,
for him,
or anybody.
Some things don’t last forever,
but some things do.
Like a good song,
or a good book,
or a good memory you can take out
and unfold in your darkest times,
pressing down the corners
and peering in close,
hoping you still...
recognize the person you see there."

it's about "truth and realities"
In the cruel world of love..
we've learned that promises aren't contracts,
kisses aren't assurances,
sweet words aren't guarantees,
big hugs aren't bonds,
and that nothings permanent in this life.
One day he's mine,
the next day he's gone,
last night he was sweet,
the next morning he's insensitive.
Loving someone is not
always about fairy tales and fantasies
it's about "truth and realities."

not always the same thing
Don't waste your time on someone who doesn't
appreciate you the way you should be appreciated.
Don't ever settle for mediocrity,
for being just an option,
for being the one who's just fun to be with,
for being the one who's always there desperately waiting,
for mere concern
or pity
or for someone who likes you just
because he knows he's got the power to break you.
It is better to have nobody
than somebody who is half yours,
half there
or doesn't want to be there,
or is there and then suddenly disappears.
You can be in love
and you can be in a relationship.
But they're not always the same thing.

lub dub
Scientifically, a person's heart beats twice in a single beat, "lub,
dub."
Figuratively, it beats for itself and for another person.
Maybe that's why cardiologist claim a third beat as abnormal.

maybe a happy ending...
Maybe a happy ending doesn’t include someone.
Maybe it’s you on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over…
Freeing yourself up for something better in the future.
Maybe the happy ending is just moving on.
Or maybe the happy ending is this:
Knowing that after all
the unreturned calls,
broken hearts,
through the blunders
and misread signals
through all the pain
and embarrassment,
you never gave up
HOPE.

Relationships of all kinds
Relationships of all kinds
are like sand
held in your hand.
Held loosely,
with an open hand,
the sand remains
where it is.
The minute you close your hand
and squeeze tightly to hold on,
the sand trickles
through your fingers.
You may hold on to some of it,
but most will be spilled.
A relationship is like that.
Held loosely,
with respect
and freedom
for the other person,
it is likely to remain intact.
But hold too tightly,
too possessively,
and the relationship slips away
and is lost.
